Hi. I’m Kate. I absolutely love to find innovative products, cute clothes and fabulous toys for my two children and, of course, great things to make my life as a parent easier. Toddler Boy was born in December 2006 and Baby Girl joined us in November of 2008. Even before they were born, I quickly discovered the internet is a great resource for information, products and reviews of all things baby and child.

My life was very different before I married and had kids as was my use of the Internet. I went to college in Massachusetts in a time when it seems the Internet didn’t really exist, and I used the computer mainly to keep in touch over email. I lived in New York City for a couple of years and I used the web to buy concert tickets and place ice cream deliveries. And then I spent three years of my life online to research and read court opinions during law school. (I’m sure I don’t have to tell you shopping for my kids is way more fun.)

After graduating from law school and taking the bar in a state where I will probably never live again, I moved to Germany with my husband who is a pilot in the Air Force. This, I believe, is when the shopping addiction began. It’s not easy being pregnant with your first child in a land where you barely speak the language and can’t just run out to Babies R Us to check out the strollers and car seats and bedding.

Don’t get me wrong, now that we’re back in the States I love to shop at brick and mortar stores just as much as the next person, but sometimes it’s just not gonna happen with two little kids. In January 2009, I started putting my addiction to good use by sharing my favorite online shops and goodies on The Shopping Mama blog.
