After just a few short months, I’m pretty sure I’m still considered a “newbie” here in the blogging world and I have to say that I am absolutely loving everything about it. I love the friendships that have formed, the inspiration that I find from other bloggers, and most importantly…I love creating new looks to share!
In our world of chaos, Curt and I usually take one day during the week to pull all of my pictures together and they can vary anywhere from pretty dressy, like here, to really casual like what I’m sharing today! While I really enjoy my weekly dress up sessions, when all is said and done, I have to admit that my more casual clothes will always get the most attention in my day to day life. If you were to run into me while I was out and about, I’d probably have my 4 year old in tow and if you’re really trying to hunt us down, might I suggest your first stop be a Target?
Sometimes, when I think of the phrase, “T-Shirt and Jeans”, my first thought is…boring! I think of just tossing on whatever is clean and calling it good. That being said, I’m actually pretty thankful for this oh-so-reliable outfit and wear it pretty regularly! So, in order to keep it a little less boring and whole lot more exciting, I’ve started to buy more t-shirts that have a print and/or a more modern cut. This way you can still wear something comfortable and functional, but have a little more fun with your outfit.
I am so drawn to polka dots so when I spotted this tee at the Gap last week my initial thought was, “Oooh!!! Does it come in any more colors?!”. (It sure does!!). I really love this top mostly because I’m actually a dedicated v-neck girl and am always on the lookout for a crewneck that I could love just as much! This crewneck has both a pretty relaxed fit and it also what the Gap calls “raw” edges along the waist and arm bands. It’s just a cool way to say that they’re not sewn flat like a hem and really just a little added detail that makes this basic t-shirt anything but basic.
I’m still loving boyfriend jeans this summer and this pair right here are my current favorites! They have a darker wash and just the right amount of distressing. You can wear them straight or wear them cuffed (once, or twice!) to your own preference. I’ve experimented with all of the above and can’t say I like one way more than the other. They have so many washes with this style so be sure to check out the links below to see if there’s a pair you might like!
This pair of wedges have been a go-to this entire summer! They are so comfortable, versatile, and much more exciting than my tired flip flops. I love the way the neutral beige color of the shoes came together with my bag. I could go on for days about the awesomeness that is a crossbody strap when you’re walking around with a small child, but I’m sure you know what I mean! “Hands free” is a must!
