When packing for our cruise last week, photo opportunities were at the forefront of my mind. From historic cities to picturesque beaches to cruise sunsets, I knew there would be many chances to capture some great photographs of my kids. Of course, they had to be decked out in outfits that were up to the task so I was excited to pack a set of bow ties for my boys from Stinky McGee.
On the last evening of the cruise, I dressed the boys in matching madras shorts, white button downs and their coordinating red and blue gingham bow ties. Their ensembles were beyond perfection. Just fantastic. I was thrilled to, finally on our last day, take THE PHOTO of the three kids to forever commemorate our epic vacation.
And then this photo shoot happened. All three were goofy, smiling and totally antsy. No one stood still.
In the few photos where they were all actually looking adorable and AT the camera – albeit while moving – there was a random stranger in the background, blocking our sunset.
But, sometimes? Random people in the background make for a pretty unforgettable vacation photo. I now present: the make-out session photo bomb.
So I didn’t get the perfect photo of my kids, we did get some pictures that totally represent them – and the action and adventure of our trip. And, luckily, we have those perfect little ties for bow-tied boys photo, round 2.
Stinky McGee Ties
Handmade in Brooklyn, Stinky McGee ties are super hip, combining on trend fabrics with a classic tie silhouette. Available in both traditional neck ties and bow ties, but we are totally partial to the bow tie on boys. There’s just something absolutely regal about them, don’t you agree? Our six year old is wearing the size 4 – 7 bow tie and 15-month old Max sports the 0 – 4 years size. The ties are adjustable to grow with the boys, so we have plenty more photo shoot opportunities. Not to mention, the easy size adjust makes them a good investment since they’re wearable for several years.
Shop! Stinky McGee ties are $28 or $50 for a set of 2. Purchase online at StinkyMcGee.com and some stores in the NYC area.
