It snowed in Germany last weekend. Yes, winter weather is here already. To say I am unprepared after living in Alabama is a huge understatement, as the kids need warmer coats, more sweaters and slippers and on and on. Luckily, I am all set and have both warmth and style covered with one of the new Luxe Wool coats from Lands’ End.

Swing Car Coat Review
First, I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the shear volume of compliments I’ve received while wearing the coat. From day one, people have commented on how much they like the coat, and I can’t say I blame them. The color is eye-catching (if a bit outside my comfort zone), and it’s obvious even from a quick glance that it’s a high-quality, beautifully made coat. Even if people are actually complimenting the coat and not moi, it does a mama’s heart good to hear kind words – so for that, I am grateful to the Swing Car Coat!
There are some great details worth sharing that aren’t as obvious at first glance. The coat made of luxe wool woven with a touch of cashmere and brushed to create a very soft to the touch material. It’s lined with a subtle herringbone fabric with contrast piping. This inner pocket is an example of the great details found throughout.
More stylish and practical details to point out include aesthetic seams, decorative belt detail on the back, pockets with faux button flap and generous back pleat to allow ease of movement.
The coats are all priced below $250 (and, in fact, they’re on sale now so the Swing Car Coat is currently $189), which is extremely affordable for a coat of this quality. Truly, the quality of the coat can’t be overstated – it’s really beautiful and I have no doubt it will be a part of my winter wardrobe for many years.
Luxe Wool in Real World Style
I’ve been wearing the Swing Car Coat every day, in every situation a typical mom encounters. Here are a few examples that show how versatile the coat can be.
Soccer Mom. Literally. The Swing Car Coat on the soccer fields over a sweater, jeans and rain boots.
