Juicy Juice Fruit for All Project {Giveaway}

1 in 5 American children are food insecure. That means ONE IN FIVE children lack access to the nutritional foods necessary to maintain a healthy and active lifestyle. That statistic is shocking and terribly sad. Unfortunately, the issue of food insecurity increases in the summer when school aged children are no longer in school with access to school lunch and food programs. Recognizing a very important need, Juicy Juice has launched the Fruit for All Project and has pledged to donate 3.5 million pieces of fruit to children in need via Feeding America.

Juicy Juice has partnered with Feeding America, the country’s “largest hunger relief agency with a network of over 200 regional food banks and over 61,000 charitable feeding agencies.” The awesome pledge to donate 3.5 million pieces of fruit is equal to HALF the fruit distributed through Feeding American in all of 2011 – a truly impressive and generous gift!

How You Can Help

• Juicy Juice In Store Purchase: Any Juicy Juice product purchased in store will result in a fruit donation. That includes eight-packs of our juice boxes, cans of our concentrate, as well as any of our larger plastic bottles. A list of stores selling Juicy Juice can be found here.
• Weekly Challenge: Participate in the Weekly Challenge online. For example, this week the challenge is to upload a photo of your child having fun with fruit. You can share your entry with friend’s to earn extra donations. You can even get involved directly on the Juicy Juice Facebook page.
• Volunteer Your Time: Volunteer at your local food bank and share your experience with Juicy Juice in the Help Fight Hunger Challenge and they’ll donate fruit. I had the chance to visit and learn more about a local food bank and it was a very eye-opening experience. I can promise you that you won’t regret spending a few hours in your local food bank.

The program will run through August 31 or until Juicy Juice donates 35 million pieces of fruit.
