I think every year I make the same New Year’s Resolution: to make more of an effort to put on makeup and look like a grown up every day. Here it is mid-March and I’m still working on making this a part of my every day routine. Even though we’re a couple months into the year I’ve actually become more motivated lately to keep up with my resolution. Believe it or not, having a baby has inspired me to focus on “putting together” my face. Because the rest of me? Is going to take some time to get back into put together shape. There’s no quick fix for 9 months of pregnancy weight gain, but there are some quick fixes for a beauty routine to help me feel better about myself every day.

A New Mom’s Beauty Routine

It will come as no surprise that my beauty routine is a quick one. With three kids under five, my days are not spent in front of a mirror applying 30 different products. It’s just not realistic (and I have better things to do with my time). I do invest a couple minutes every morning and every evening on my skin care regimen, but my beauty routine in the morning is QUICK.

Here’s my day-to-day routine: Moisturizer with SPF, Foundation, Mascara and Lip Gloss. That’s it.

The real tip and trick is to use products that do double-duty. I use a tinted moisturizer with SPF – one product that does multiple things. My lip gloss is really a soothing lip balm with color. Why use multiple products when your can find one that will do all the work?
