Sibu Beauty

If you told my teenage self that in twenty years I’d still be obsessing over skincare products I likely wouldn’t have believed you. (And, OMG, how is it possible I was a teenager 20 years ago!?!) I incorrectly assumed that by my mid-thirties my skincare woes would be non-existent. But there is good news in this little story: there are new and innovative products to pamper and improve my aging skin like the goodies from Sibu Beauty.

Meet Sibu Beauty

Sibu Beauty was introduced in 2009 to provide customers worldwide with a comprehensive approach to beauty from the inside out and outside in. The Sibu Beauty product line is based on a powerful and distinctive whole food source, the sea buckthorn berry. This superfood is backed by more than 130 scientific studies demonstrating its success at addressing a variety of consumer needs including improved skin tone and texture, healthy aging and digestive health.
The products in the Sibu Beauty system are made with only premium sea buckthorn exclusively grown and harvested for Sibu in the Himalayan mountains of Tibet. Sibu’s exclusive harvesting and manufacturing process produces more potent and hardy berries than typical sea buckthorn, and is one of the most nutrientdense sea buckthorn raw materials available on the market today.

What is seabuckthorn berry? Because I had no idea, I looked it up and according to Wikipedia it’s small fruit that grows on the seabuckthorn plant and is very high in vitamin C. It has anti-aging and skin repairing qualities.

In addition, all products in the Sibu Beauty system are paraben-free and cruelty-free and contain no dairy, wheat,
gluten, sodium, yeast or preservatives.

Sea Buckthorn Facial Cleanser

Deep yet gentle cleansing is the foundation of effective facial care at every age. This all-natural balancing facial cleanser gently removes dirt, impurities and make-up while maintaining a healthy balance in your skin without compromising its natural protective nutrients. This lightly exfoliating facial cleanser will leave your face fresh, clean, and perfectly balanced. Your skin will look and feel radiant.

Features and Benefits:

  • Leaves skin looking and feeling radiant and refreshed
  • Removes excess oil and impurities
  • Contains micro-particles for a gentle exfoliation
  • Great for removing make-up
  • Non-foaming gel formula for all skin types

I’ve been using the Facial Cleanser for a couple of weeks now. The cleanser is light with a barely there fresh scent. From my experience some natural-ingredient-based skin care products can have an unusual or strong odor, but the Facial Cleanser is really very unobtrusive and citrus-y. The cleanser is soft and gentle on my skin, with small beads for a gentle exfoliant factor. The instant result is clean-feeling, smooth skin. After several weeks use, I can say I would definitely purchase the Facial Cleanser again. The results aren’t exactly dramatic at this point, but I really like the way it makes my skin feel and I do think my skin looks a little better. (And, hey, I’ll take it!)

Another product caught my attention is the Repair & Protect skin cream which aims to rejuvenate sun damaged skin, protect against environmental stress and preserve healthy skin tone and texture. Doesn’t it sound great?

To Buy or Not to Buy

To Buy… The Sibu Beauty Balancing Facial Cleanser is a welcome addition to my skin care regime. The Cleaner immediately leaves my skin feeling smooth and clean. The scent is pleasant and I love that the product is cruelty-free and contains no preservatives.

Or Not to Buy… Sibu Beauty products are more expensive than drug store skincare, so you have to decide if it’s worth the investment.

Shop! Sibu Beauty products are available online directly from Sibu and also on Amazon. The Facial Cleanser is $18.95 and the Repair & Correct Cream is $20.95.

Thanks to Sibu Beauty for providing a sample.

Love that the scent is nice, that is usually what I don’t like about natural cleansers either. Always looking for new products to try, thanks for sharing!
