After her son outgrew his jungle nursery, Tiffany wanted to try something unique that better suited her son Cohen’s personality. She decided to redo it in a Vintage Surf bedroom with striking brown walls. Tiffany blogs about the blissful life of a little surfer boy mom at From Pedicures to Puddles.
Tiffany: I was drawn to the idea of a vintage surf theme rather than a surfing room mainly because I didn’t feel like hibiscus flowers and Hawaiian shirts fit my son’s personality…plus I haven’t seen it done before and wanted to try it.
Tiffany incorporated lots of nautical items – like life preservers and oars – without going typical navy and white nautical.
The room has lots of personalized details, like the name frame from friends (left below) and the custom palm tree growth chart (right below).
Paint color sets the tone with rich brown and deep red on the walls. The
Did you notice the VW bus on the bookshelf? Tiffany literally designed to every last detail. Cohen will surely “Hang Loose” in this room.

February 21, 2011Surfer theme was top on my list for the little guy too. We were actually half way there when I found the airplane bedding. I love the idea of the rich wall colors and of course love all the touches like the bus. Reminds me of growing up in Southern California.

February 23, 2011I absolutely adore this room. I think what first caught my eye was the brown walls. I think this room is adorable. I wanted to let the mommy owner of it know I voted for this room, liked it on FB, and also shared and tweeted it so maybe I can get it some more votes. Very cool job on the room!!!

March 2, 2011I love the dark colors of this room. So different from the typical pastels and primary colors of kids’ rooms!
