Beautiful Designs for Little People: Shugabee Lane Review, Giveaway + Discount Code

I love looking for interesting and unique finds for my kids’ rooms.   In keeping with our theme of Design and Room Decor for February, this is such a fun item to showcase.  While searching “ABC Toile” (the name of  the pattern of my baby girl’s bedding) on Etsy, these adorable magnetic boards popped up and I was intrigued. I searched the shop, Shugabee Lane, and just loved everything I saw.  And after getting in touch with the shop owner, Jamie, I was even more impressed. Being a mama to 3 little ones under 4, and still find the time to create such beautiful things takes a lot talent and patience. And I would guess a lot of coffee. :)

About Shugabee Lane

We are a husband and wife design team with a 3 small children all under the age of 4 including our newest addition now just 10 months old. We searched high and low for unique high style nursery decor but ended up often creating our own decor using my husband’s woodworking talent and my talent for design. We are excited to share those talents with you and thank you for allowing us to be a part of your little person’s place!

Our Experience

When I originally contacted Shugabee Lane about a magnetic board for my daughter’s room, I was thinking I would get the ABC Toile board, as it matches her nursery exactly.  The more I looked around the shop, I realized I wanted this to be a piece that was timeless and could stay in her room over the years. I could see her putting little photos and birthday party invitations on the board in the next few years, and her prom date picture in the way, way off future! I decided on a pink damask fabric instead that matches perfectly right now, and will look sophisticated over the years.

One of the things that I love about Etsy is that you get such personal care and interest in what your “vision” is for an item from the shop owner.  Jamie was so sweet to go out and look for a vintage frame in the shape and look that I envisioned, and emailed me promptly with a few different options. They were all perfect, I had a had time choosing one. Once I finally did, she made it and sent it to us very quickly, and it arrived very well packaged with a pretty flower on the wrapping. I was so excited to get it hung, that I took my pictures for this post right away without putting any  little photos up for you to see, but this way you can see the beautiful damask fabric.  I love the little details that are included in the magnetic board, three little sweet matching magnets to start out adding memories to your board.

Unique and One of a Kind

I really was impressed with every aspect of this Etsy transaction. From service, to design ideas, to craftmanship, it was a class act through the entire purchase. I wish I lived down in Texas so I could visit Shugabee Lane’s new booth space in Granny’s Korner in Tomball, TX.  So if you are familiar with the area, please go check out their shop -  I think you will be in love.

To Buy or Not to Buy

To Buy… This is such a unique item that could be a great addition to you child’s room, playroom, or your kitchen or office. A stylish way for your kids to add what they want on their walls without putting holes in your walls. Or having a boring old wood bulletin board like I did growing up!

Or Not to Buy… Considering you can design your own magnetic board by picking your frame, color, and fabric, there is no reason not to add one of these to any space that needs a little something on the wall!

Shop! Take a look around Shugabee Lane on Etsy, and find the right one for you, or convo Jamie to create a custom order.   Remember, she can match any decor, color scheme or style.  She is giving Shopping Mama readers a fabulous coupon code for 15% off your order through the end of February. Use code “EXCLUSIVE” during checkout.

I love so many things about her shop! If I had to pick one design, it would be down to the vintage owl print or the antique gray and white magnetic chalkboard.
