Inspired by a few key pieces, Elissa designed this retro military nursery for her son in a very unique space with fun architectural details.
Elissa: This nursery was for our first child, Oliver. We had a hard time deciding on what we wanted it to look like. We found a few pieces that inspired us. We found a really cool old military bench and a retro chandelier. We decided to combine the two looks… the theme: Retro military chic. We didn’t want it to be over the top “themey”. (Is that even a word?) [I vote yes. Spell check may disagree, but I'm with you - it's totally a word. -Kate]
Elissa: We found some really cool retro old toys on eBay. The military bench, military medical box, and wire baskets were purchased at Loods5 in The Netherlands.
Elissa: One of my favorite things is the chalkboard. We created that from using chalkboard paint.
