The Land of Nod.
This modern girls nursery in light blue and white comes from Carly, the owner of Sticky Bellies.
Carly: When I thought about what my future daughter might be like, I envisioned a playful, laid back, unique girl and I wanted the room to reflect that personality. I also wanted it to have personal touches and not seem “generic” or too “matchy-matchy.” It started with the Dwell Charlotte bedding and just grew over time as I added new pieces to the design. We moved into this home the day that I went into labor, so this room definitely wasn’t ready-to-go when we brought her home. I had purchased everything and painted, but other than that, I put it together over time. I’ve actually added a few more personal touches since taking these pictures, as I am constantly making changes to the room reflects who AVERY is!
Carly: I love the plexiglass mirror over the changing table. A great distraction during diaper changes that she STILL loves today, at 19 months!
Carly painted the room a light blue pulled from the crib bedding. One wall was custom painted with white semi-gloss paint in the same pattern as the bedding.
Carly: I really love all the pieces I found on etsy – the artwork that spells her name (so whimsical and ageless!), the mobile, the “You Are My Sunshine” print (our favorite song to sing to her), the ABC blocks with Amy Butler fabric on them that spell her name… all the personal touches.
Here are some sweet photos of Avery enjoying her bookshelves!
Thank you so much, Carly, for sharing Avery’s fabulously modern nursery.

February 21, 2011I’m going to have to pick accessories as my favorite feature of this room because I can’t pick a favorite. Hmm, on second thought, I’m going to say adorable Avery, then the accessories, followed closely by the book shelfs that I’m totally going to get for my room.
