Casual Clothes for Mom from Fresh Produce (with Giveaway)

As much as I concern myself with what my kids wear, I find that I only shop for myself when I have something to dress up for. I don’t pay nearly enough attention to casual, comfortable but still nice looking clothes to wear every day. Enter Fresh Produce. A company known for its breezy, comfortable style has great casual women’s clothing perfect for moms.

About Fresh Produce

Fresh Produce started when the founders sold silk-screened shirts from the trunk of their car at the Summer Olympics in LA in 1984. “The concept then is the same as now – to bring the emotions, the colors, the sensations, the leisure of beach life to everyday life through fashion.”

Now in its third decade, Fresh Produce continues to be primarily Made in the USA and has grown into a $50 million company with one of the most original, refreshing and captivating casual, resort and sportswear lines in America. Known and loved by women ages 6 months to 60-plus for lush colors, year-round sensibility, simply inspired design and coastal comfort, Fresh Produce continues to delight customers around the globe. Fresh Produce can be found in Nordstrom, Walt Disney resorts and stores, and over 800 specialty boutiques and resort retailers.

Cozy Up Velour Suit

If moms had a uniform, it might look something like the Cozy Up Velour Jacket and Pants from Fresh Produce. I received the set in Boysenberry (a nice change from my usual denim and black wardrobe) as well as the V Neck Tank in white. The Velour Jacket and Pants are, in a word: comfortable. And in three words? Easy to wear. Both are made of cotton and polyester velour blend and the result is a soft, comfortable fabric. The Jacket zippers and has hidden pockets, as well as some nice ruching detail on the cuffs at the sleeves and waist. True to the laid back beach vibe, the fit is generous. I’ve been wearing the Small which in some brands is fitted but is not in the Jacket, Pants or Tank.

The Cozy Up Pants have an elastic waistband which I sometimes associate with not so chic clothing, but it’s not an elastic waistband like you’d find on your toddler’s pants. No, this waistband isn’t embarrassing, though I admit to wearing it covered by a tee or the Jacket. The Fresh Produce size chart indicates the women’s clothes fit best for women 5’4″ to 5’8″. I’m 5’9″ and do find the pants a little shorter than I’d like. They’re certainly wearable – and will look better with flip flops when the weather improves.

To round out the Jacket and Pants, I received the V Neck Tank. The shirt is comfortable, in 100% cotton with a relaxed fit. My preference is to wear something more fitted with the Jacket and Pants set, like the Lace Trim Cami. The V Neck is better suited with some board shorts or flowy pants in the summer so I probably won’t wear all three pieces together again.

To Buy or Not to Buy

To Buy… The Cozy Up Velour Jacket and Pants make a great set and are equally useful as separates. (Indeed, I wore the Jacket with a white tee and jeans yesterday.) The quality and craftsmanship on Fresh Produce clothing is fantastic – it washes as well as it wears. And, you can wear it for a long time because the styles are classic and comfortable – and that never goes out of style

Or Not to Buy… Fresh Produce isn’t cutting edge style so if you’re looking for some trendy piece, this isn’t it.

Shop! The Cozy Velour Jacket and Pants are currently on sale for $55 (reg. $72) and $34 (reg. $56). The V Neck Tank is $32. All Fresh Produce clothes can be purchased online at freshproduceclothes.com.
