Adiri Baby Bottle a Modern Look with Natural Function: Review + Giveaway

Award-winning Adiri Natural Nurser baby bottles were designed by a group of moms at The Water Geeks who asked, “if a bottle is supposed to mimic breastfeeding, shouldn’t it look more like a breast?” To solve this obvious deficiency in the baby bottle market, they resigned the bottle from the nipple down to mimic the breast. And it really does look (and feel) more like a breast than any baby bottle I’ve seen. The entire upper section of the bottle, from the clear nipple to where color begins, gives a little just like the real thing (except on those engorgement days, am I right?). Jack would have loved to have had this bottle sooner. He is a boob man through and through and the rounded shape of this bottle is exactly what he has been wanting.

Turning the Bottle Feeding World Upside Down

This baby bottle has literally been turned upside down. To fill it you turn it nipple side down and unscrew the base because the bottle and nipple are all one piece. The large filling cap keeps the nipple from leaking and has a nice wide surface to keep the bottle from tipping over. The base of the bottle (the clear disk) has a Petal Vent and Valve that vents the bottle from the bottom, to reduce air ingestion that has been linked to gas and colic symptoms. The Warming Disc (the green disk) seals the vent in the base to allow bottle warming and travel without the risk of leaks. This upside down look and fused bottle and nipple give the Adiri its unique and award winning look, but (possibly most importantly) it’s still all dishwasher safe.

Adiri bottles are made with BPA and phthalate free materials and come in three flow options with convenient color coding. Slow flow bottles are white/clear, medium are blue and fast flow are orange. I love this feature. I hate digging through our bottle nipples trying to read the little “s” or “m” imprinted on the edge. I also like that the filling cap and warming disk can be used as a snack cup when your little one outgrows the bottle.

The Water Geeks

Adiri baby bottles are a product of a rather oddly named (for a baby bottle company) The Water Geeks. The Water Geeks self describe their mission on their webpage.

The WaterGeeks are helping turn the global water crisis upside down by empowering consumers with compelling new water consumption choices that embrace both their active lifestyles and their ecological beliefs.

Our global manufacturing partners add immeasurably to our in-house R&D and production capabilities. These capabilities enable us to incorporate the most current science and technology into a diverse range of new water consumption products under a single brand name: WaterGeeks.

This allows us to offer you a wide range of effective and affordable new products created with the singular purpose of helping to create both a healthier “you” and a healthier “planet”.

To Buy or Not to Buy

To Buy… Adiri bottles would make the perfect gift for expectant or new moms or babies. These cool looking bottles are sure to get noticed and with their “boob-like” function,  are likely to be a hit with the little one. I don’t know why, but I just see these bottles as the kind of thing you’d see Gwen Stefani or other hip parents using.

Or Not to Buy… let’s face it, babies decide what kind of bottle they like and it’s not always predictable. It’s usually a good idea to start with just a few bottles to be sure your little one likes them before making a big investment.

Shop! Adiri Natural Nurser baby bottles are available for just over $10 for a single bottle and $17 and up for multi-packs at Adiri on Amazon.com. You can also find Adiri bottles at TheWaterGeeks.com and Overstock.com right now (these may be a previous version, I don’t see the warming disc in the descriptions and the new version – the one we tried – is reportedly better).
