KABOOST Your Tot Up to the Table

Dinner time at my house means one thing: there will be a constant chorus of me saying, “Sit on your bottom” to my son. He is at that in between stage where he’s too old to sit at a high chair, but too little to sit on a regular chair unassisted. He wiggles and sits on his feet and twirls… and oh my, it is so annoying. When researching a good option for him, I was super excited to find the Kaboost Chair Booster.

What is KABOOST?

KABOOST is a compact and portable chair booster that raises the height of kitchen and dining room chairs so your child can sit at the table just like a big kid. With KABOOST, the entire dining experience is enhanced for both child and family.

KABOOST Specs

  • Quick & Easy: snaps-on chair in seconds, no assembly required
  • Sturdy: engineered to improve chair stability, holds up to 300 pounds
  • Rubberized feet: non-slip and won’t scratch floors, grips chair legs firmly into place
  • 2 Height Positions: same heights as standard booster seats (4.5″ and 3.75″), grows with child
  • Adjustable spring system: fits most 4-legged chairs (round or square legs), stays attached even when chair is moved

A KABOOST Up to the Table

KABOOST Chair Booster is not your typical booster seat that you attach to the top of the chair for your tot to sit in. Rather, the KABOOST goes on the BOTTOM of any four legged chair you already have. At nearly 4, my son does not want to sit in a booster seat – he thinks he’s too old for that, and I have a hard time disagreeing with him. The KABOOST is genius in the sense that your child can sit in a chair just like the grownups, but they can sit up higher and closer to the table like a child needs.

See how much closer to the table he is with the KABOOST? He loves his new “high up chair” and I really like that he’s in a better position to enjoy a meal.

The KABOOST has four adjustable legs, that you can pull to lengthen and move around so that it fits on most chairs. We have used the KABOOST on a dining room chair and our kitchen table chair – and it worked perfectly on both. The arms of the booster stretch and are spring-loaded which allows it to fit most chairs, but also means it fits snugly and securely against the chair legs. Once it’s attached to a chair, you can truly lift and move the chair and the KABOOST stays in place.

Another great feature of the KABOOST is that it is highly portable. The four arms of the booster can slide together a compact fold, and there is even a carrying case. I think this will make frequent trips with us when we have dinner with family.

To Buy or Not to Buy

To Buy… The KABOOST Portable Chair Booster is a great alternative to a traditional booster chair. It is easy to use, gives older toddlers and preschoolers a much needed boost to the table, and is affordable. I love that it stays securely on the chair when I move the chair to clean while at the same time it’s easily portable.

Or Not to Buy… The KABOOST doesn’t provide additional support or security to the seat of the chair itself, so your child must be old enough to sit at the table by himself. The Booster didn’t really help keep my son in his seat, which we can chalk up to a need to improve table manners!

Shop! The Kaboost Portable Chair Booster is $37.95 in Chocolate, Green and Natural and can be purchased from Amazon. You can purchase the Travel Bag separately for $6.50.
