Gymboree’s New “Owl Collection”: Fall Homecoming

by Kate on September 4th, 2010 | 12 Comments » | In Shopping

I admit that I am a Gymbo-addict, but honestly lately I haven’t been wow’ed by many collections. Every collection seemed to be a recycled version of the year before and rather unoriginal. But, today I fell in love. With the “owl collection” for girls, technically called Fall Homecoming. Oh, my cuteness. I just LOVE these clothes.

Forest Fashion: Stripe Hooded Cardigan ($34.75), Owl Branch Tree ($19.75), Flower Button Skinny Jean ($32.75), Flower Sweater Hat ($14.75), Owl Flower Knee Sock ($6), Flower Mary Jane Shoe ($34.75)

Owl Sweetie: Cable Sweater Duster ($39), Owl Flower Corduroy ($32.75), Wise Owl Tee ($19.75), Owl Sweater Hat ($14.75), Owl Flower Tight ($12.75), Flower Boot ($39)

Sweet on Stripes: Stripe Turtleneck Tunic Sweater ($34.75), Ribbon Belt Knit Pant ($29.75), Ribbon Button Headband ($7), Argyle Strip Sock 2 pack ($9.75)

Now, I realize that the colors are very similar to the “buttons collection” from last fall, but the owl embellishments give this a fresh look that I really like. (And, yes, owls have been in or “hot” for a while now, so perhaps the idea has jumped the shark now that it’s in a Gymboree collection.) I also think all the sweaters in the line are awesome – I honestly want a couple in my size.

Fill A Bag Sale

I typically purchase Gymboree clothes on sale for next year, but between the Fill A Bag Sale where EVERYTHING in the store (and online) is discounted 30% and a 20% off coupon, I couldn’t resist stocking up on a few pieces from this line, including the Short Sleeve Cable Sweater. I am seriously going to stalk this line and buy more as it gets marked down.

Shop! BUY THIS WEEKEND at Gymboree.com or in stores and take advantage of the Fill A Bag Sale which ends Monday. The Fall Homecoming line is available in both Kid Girl (sizes 3 to 12) and Baby Girl (sizes 3 months to 5T).

What do YOU think of the Fall Homecoming collection?

I was not paid for this post, but Gymboree *should* pay me, don’t ya think? Clearly I’d be an awesome brand ambassador.

I agree with you. I haven’t been thrilled with their new lines either. This is the first I’ve heard about the owl line and I LOVE it. How cute is that dress and the hat?

I had such a hard time deciding what to buy today because, sadly, I can’t buy it all. But I’m kind of kicking myself for not getting that hat!

This is a cute line! I haven’t bought from them in awhile, because everything has been a remake of years before. I don’t remember any owls though!
