Streamline Your Morning Routine – Introducing Eggo Real Fruit Pizzas (with Giveaway)

When I was asked to participate in the Streamline Your Routine campaign with Eggo and TheMotherhood, I assumed it was because someone is taking pity on me. Like, someone had somehow caught a glimpse of the chaos that is a morning in my house and knew I needed a change of routine to streamline my morning. And I do.

My “Routine”

A typical morning in my house goes something like this:

  • Around 6:45 my son walks up to my side of the bed (because my husband is usually out of town or already at work) and starts jabbering away as if it’s the middle of the afternoon.
  • I remind him that we don’t wake up until 7.
  • He lays with me or reads a book in the living room until he sees the number 7 on the clock and then it’s GO time. {Sort of.}
  • I get my son a drink and we chill and cuddle on the couch and I check my email until my daughter wakes up.
  • My daughter joins us on the couch and we all just kind of sit around for a while. {Not productive.}
  • At some point I snap out of it and get the kids breakfast. Usually when my daughter grabs my finger and pulls me to the kitchen to let me know she’s hungry.
  • I try to get something together for the kids and make myself a coffee.
  • Then I really snap out of it and realize I have about half an hour until we are supposed to be somewhere. But first I have to prepare breakfast, feed both kids, get them dressed, pack their bags (including lunch) if they’re going to Mom’s Day Out or pack my bag with snacks, juice, diapers and whatever else we need.

There has to be a better way. Help me! Seriously, what are your tips for streamlining your morning routine and making it work?

Eggo’s Answer to Morning Chaos

In an effort to streamline the morning routine by providing a quick, well-balanced breakfast, Eggo created a one of a kind breakfast food to combine favorite breakfast items into one convenient (and yummy) food.

Eggo Real Fruit Pizzas are an all-in-one combination of fruit and warm toasted granola on an oven-baked cinnamon and maple-flavored crust. Available in Strawberry Granola and Mixed Berry Granola.

The Fruit Pizza can be microwaved in one minute or baked in the oven. While I think I would prefer it baked for a few minutes in the oven, it probably doesn’t surprise you to find out I was always in too much of a hurry to bake it and instead just popped it in the microwave. The Fruit Pizza rests on one of those crazy cardboard things to make the crust crispy (which actually prevented the tell-tale microwave rubbery crust).

I admit I was totally skeptical about this idea and wasn’t sure how I’d like it. I was very pleasantly surprised. First, I like that it includes real fruit – that tastes like real fruit. It’s surprisingly flavorful for a frozen meal – the mix of yogurt, fruit and seasoned crust is really good. On the downside, it’s a bit pricey and while I could easily eat a whole pizza on my own, it’s a tad on the high calorie count if you’re watching your figure. (The serving size is 1 pizza and Mixed Berry Granola has 390 calories and 13 grams of fat, Strawberry Granola has 400 calories and 12 grams of fat.) But I was being generous and shared one with my husband and one with my daughter.

Shop! Eggo Real Fruit Pizzas are available now in the frozen section of grocery stores nationwide.

Win! FIVE Readers Will Receive A Set of Eggo Real Fruit Pizzas – both Strawberry Granola and Mixed Berry Granola.

    To make mornings easier, enlist the help of hubby. He can pack lunches while you make breakfast. Dads can help too!

    Always set things out the night before. For me if I am 5 minutes later out the door then the traffic is a lot worse and then 5 minutes late turns into 45 so not being able to find my shoes, or cell phone, or anything like that is important so I just set everything out the night before.

    My morning routine is easier when I just make one thing for breakfast for everyone. If I let one child pick something different it leads to more work, more dishes and more cleanup. Plus then, everyone wants something other than what I had intended to have.

    Thanks!

    I wake up an hour earlier than everyone else, to get ready, straighten up the house, and anything I need to get done.

    The night before I leave out my childrens clothes. I also pack their lunches and backpacks so they are ready to go in the morning.
