Make a Statement with Tail Wags Helmet Covers Review

In the past couple months my son has developed a real interest in ridig his bikes and we usually spend an hour or two a day playing outside while he improves his riding skills. After lots of practice, he has mastered his tricycle. But, the process was not easy. He took many a tumble while getting the hang of it and my husband and I made the decision early on he needed to wear a helmet. So we bought one – but three year olds are finicky so getting him to wear it was another story. Until we received a Tail Wags Helmet Cover that took his helmet from a boring mom rule to a fun accessory that he actually wants to wear. Even when he’s not riding his bike.

About Tail Wags

Parents know the importance of children wearing helmets while skiing, snowboarding, skating, tobogganing, biking and equestrian riding. However, they are often faced with the difficult task of getting their kids to actually wear their helmets. Tail Wags provides a fun solution that can be enjoyed by the entire family.

Our helmet covers are made from top quality fabrics and finishings to create a superior product for you to enjoy. They are resistant to colour fading and tearing, and are sturdy enough to be worn under all kinds of conditions. Tail Wags is proud to have developed helmet covers that you can treasure for years to come.

Tail Wags Helmet Covers

Tail Wags helmet covers are available in three different fabrics – lightweight lycra, micro fleece and polar fleece. The fleece helmet covers are available in children’s size (which generally fits kids up around 9 years old) and adult while the lycra helmet covers are one size fits all. Because the covers fit over the helmet with elastic, they git all kinds of safety helmets for your active kids.

Here are some of my favorite designs made of fleece. What girl wouldn’t love the Princess Cover? And how cool are the spider and turtle?

Dinosaur Helmet Cover

We received the Dinosaur Helmet Cover in the new lightweight lycra material. The Helmet Cover is bright and bold and pure awesome. Like most Tail Wags covers, the Dinosaur is 3D with a face, spike and tail. It even has googly eyes. I love how playful and youthful it is.

The cover fits easily and snugly over my son’s bike helmet intended for 3 to 5 year olds. The helmet is well made with elastic around the bottom to keep it secure on the helmet. When it’s on the helmet, it’s there to stay until you want to take it off.

Even my daughter who doesn’t ride a bike or need a helmet likes to wear the Tail Wags!

To Buy or Not to Buy

To Buy… I simply love Tail Wags Helmet Covers. They are obviously adorable, and the quality is great. Not to mention the incentive factor they provide for your little one to actually wear a helmet. The cover transforms a boring helmet into a fun accessory kids actually want to wear.

Or Not to Buy… We actually had trouble finding a plain bike helmet for my son – they all had characters on them – so you may not find this necessary. But keep them in mind as your child’s interests change or as a way to offer an alternative to the helmet you do have.

Shop! The Dinosaur Helmet Cover and the other lycra covers (like those pictured above) are $45. Most fleece helmet covers are $40. You can purchase Tail Wags and search for US and Canadian retailers online. **Become a fan of Tail Wags on Facebook and receive an exclusive 10% discount!**
