Rainy Day Toys from Hasbro Review + Giveaway (Closed)

Even though it’s spring and we’re eager to get outside and get moving, the reality is there are many days when it’s just not possible. We need an arsenal of good, quiet indoor toys that my son can play with when my daughter is napping and that don’t drive me nutso when both kids are playing together. Hasbro has such great options for kids of all ages, including Play-Doh and FurReal Friends.

Play-Doh Fun Factory Spin ‘n Store

Let your imagination run wild as you load, extrude and mold colorful forms of Play-Doh compound with fun molds and crazy extruder shapes! This FUN FACTORY set has everything you need to keep the creative juices flowing!

Play-Doh is a big hit in our house – my son absolutely loves it. He really enjoys playing with it, but he usually needs some assistance or direction to keep him interested. The Fun Factory Spin ‘n Store is great because he can do it by himself. Basically, you put the Play-Doh into the mold and push down on the handle and the Play-Doh comes out in a fun shape. You can spin the front to create different shapes and there is also a mold underneath the handle that creates little single shapes. The Fun Factory comes with two containers of Play-Doh that can be stored in the bottom when not in use.

FurReal Friends Snuggimals

Your new puppy figure needs lots of attention — and loves to “snuggle” more than anything! Cuddle up close with this furry little friend and pet his back. When you do, your new puppy pal will move his head and tail, just to “tell” you that he’s ready for more snuggling!

I can’t possibly tell you how cute this little thing is. It’s seriously cute. Almost makes me want a puppy. Wait, no it doesn’t. I’ll cuddle with this wee thing instead. The FurReal Friends Snuggimals is pretty small. As you can see in the pictures, my 17 month old can easily hold and carry it around. And she does. All day long. She loves to rub his back and make the puppy nod his head and wiggle his tail and then giggles and giggles when it moves. The Snuggimal is intended for four year olds but my daughter actually enjoys and plays with it more than my son.

The Snuggimal box is also a little dog house to foster the imaginative play. In addition to dogs (we received the Creme and Rust Puppy), Snuggimals also come in all sorts of baby animals. The FurReal Friends website has the cutest little piglets and ducklings and kittens. You have to admit, they really are cute.

To Buy or Not to Buy

To Buy… Both of these options are very affordable and great source of fun. Kids love Play-Doh and the Fun Factory is a fun addition to your Play-Doh collection. It’s a great way to encourage solo play and creativity. The FurReal Friends Snuggimal is a fun little stuffed animal, but more. The movement is subtle and fun. The best part of both toys? They don’t make noise!

Or Not to Buy… The Snuggimals is very small, but so is the price tag. I think these are better when there’s more than one and I’d love to see them sold in a set. Sometimes my son has trouble pushing the the handle on the Fun Factory, but once he gets the hang of it, he can do it by himself.
