KODAK Celebrates "Babies" + Camera Giveaway (Closed)

KODAK has babies on the brain! Between celebrating the launch of the movie “Babies”, offering free birth announcements in the KODAK Gallery, and the KODAK Gallery Baby Photo Contest there are lots of ways to celebrate the camera’s littlest subjects.

“Babies” Movie

KODAK has partnered with the motion picture “Babies” to celebrate the lives of babies around the world. The Focus Features film follows simultaneously follows infants from Mongolia, Japan, Namibia and the United States from birth to walking. Check out snapshots of their lives in the Babies Slideshow in the KODAK Gallery. The images are stunning and if that doesn’t make you want to see the movie, perhaps the trailer will. I know I’m excited to see the film.

Babies in in theaters now so check your local theater for show times. And if you loved the Slideshow, you can make your own in the KODAK Gallery to share with family and friends.

Free Birth Announcements

While your child might not be part of a motion picture for all to see, sharing the news of your bundle of joy’s arrival just got a lot easier (and cheaper!). KODAK Gallery now offers a selection of Free Birth Announcements. You can get up to 2 sets of 10 announcements and all you have to pay for is shipping. The free designs are quite cute – some modern, some classic. And, of course, they all include photos of your wee one. I personalized my favorite design with a picture of my daughter when she was a few weeks old. Isn’t it cute?

The process is simple and you really can’t argue with adorable and free.

KODAK Moment of the Month Contest

Photographing Babies

So, you don’t have the perfect baby photo to submit to the KODAK MOMENT of the Month contest yet? Amy Postle, a KODAK Professional Photographer has tips about how to photograph a baby. Some of the great tips include:

• Shoot from your perspective – “Capture things as realistically as possible and from the angle that only a parent sees.”
• Keep it simple – “The more simple you keep the photograph, the more your baby will be the focus.”
• Keep the room calm – “Avoid the urge to constantly talk to your baby, just silently watch and photograph his or her natural tendencies.”
