Bravado Essential Nursing Bra Tank Review

Bravado Designs nursing bras and tanks are designed to make breastfeeding as easy and comfortable as possible. And the Essential Nursing Tank is no different. I think its ideal for those first months of breastfeeding when the nursing seems constant and comfort is king.

Essential Nursing Tank Features

  • Full bra inside, not just a shelf
  • Cushioned, adjustable straps
  • Discreet clips
  • Flattering hip length
  • Great stretch, while retaining shape after washing

Comfortable Nursing Tank

I never thought I’d “cheat” on my Basics by Bravado Nursing Sleep Bra and sleep in anything else. But, I did. The Essential Nursing Tank is so comfortable that it was perfect for a good night’s sleep. This Tank is very soft and built for comfort. Another thing I love about the Tank is that, like all Bravado tops, it opens fully to reveal the whole breast allowing plenty of contact for baby. The bra inside the Tank is definitely more than a shelf bra (I hate those). It allows some real definition and shape for the breasts, but I do find that after a couple hours I have a bit of a uni-boob. (Edited to add that I slept in the tank last night after writing this post and wore it for several hours this morning. There was much more shape and division between my breasts. I think perhaps I needed to wear it on several occasions to “break it in” to avoid the uni-boob.)

The Tank isn’t particularly tight through the waist so I don’t think it’s great for layering with a tee or thin top, but it is perfect for layering with sweaters in the winter. Bravado sells a matching Shrug that is a nice way to add coverage if you want a little more coverage for hitting the town.

The Essential Nursing Tank clasp is a bit different from the signature B-clasp on other Bravado bras. I find it harder to open and close than the B-clasp and it still requires two hands for me to do, although I’m sure one-handed open and close is possible.

To Buy or Not to Buy

To Buy… The Essential Nursing Tank is a must have for mamas breastfeeding infants. I wore and slept in a (far inferior) nursing tank for months after both children were born. Oh, how I wish I’d had the Bravado Essential Nursing Tank! As your baby grows and you nurse less, you’ll still find the Tank just as comfortable and useful.

Or Not to Buy… I don’t like the clasp as much as the Bravado B-claps and find it requires two hands. I also find myself looking a bit uni-boobish after wearing it for a long period of time.

Shop! The Essential Nursing Tank is available in six colors and ranges from 32 band to 40 F/G. It can be purchased at BravadoDesigns.com and Amazon.

While bravado’s products are wonderful, they are a small company and their customer service department is awful!

I’m so sorry you have had a bad experience with their customer service. But, I do agree their products are great.

I agree about the sleep bras. I had one with both my boys and LOVED them. This sleep tank looks wonderful and so super comfy. I will have to keep it in mind down the road when we decide to have another baby!

I thought for being a product that is widely popular, the quality was very low. It can only be worn as an undergarment vs. a stand alone tank. I personally like the Glamourmom tanks. They are superior in quality and offer a wider range of styles and colors options.

Very Cool! I just found a nursing bra with the same set-up. I might have to pick up one to try!
