Bravado! Designs Allure Nursing Bra Review

This post is about a nursing bra so if you’re not up for breastfeeding and boob talk: move along, nothing to see here.

bravado designs logoYou may recall a couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure of reviewing Basics by Bravado nursing bras. And, I do mean pleasure because I really liked them. So you can imagine how excited I was to review a couple bras from the traditional Bravado! Designs line. This post is all about the Allure Underwire Nursing Bra.

About the Allure

A revolution in underwire nursing bra design, the Allure Underwire Nursing Bra combines Bravado Designs’ expertise in innovative bra development with our extensive knowledge of your need for good breast health and comfort, to create a bra that you will love and feel fabulous wearing.

The Allure Underwire Nursing Bra features the new standard in Underwire Nursing Bras, offered exclusively by Bravado: Supple-FitTM design. This proprietary fusion of design elements results in an underwire nursing bra that blends style with good breast health.

My Experience

bravado allure nursing braAll the technology in the world is great, but if the bra is uncomfortable it’s pretty much worthless. The Allure Underwire bra is, luckily, quite comfortable. Nearly every bra in my life has been an underwire so I really like that Bravado! has an underwire option that was designed with lactation consultants. The wire is wide to distribute weight and not pinch your parts. I found the underwire to be unobtrusive and easy to wear. Another design feature I really appreciate is that when you open the cup to nurse, it reveals almost your entire breast so you don’t have to fidget and work around the bra to achieve the correct latch.

The Allure is available in sizes 34 B/C to 38 F/G – the double cup sizing is good to accommodate growing breast size. But, since I’ve been nursing for a while my size has stabilized and this isn’t really a concern. I wasn’t sure what size to pick because I’m a size C and definitely not a B or a D. I picked the smaller option and went with the B/C. It does fit, but I do wish there was a C/D option because it’s almost too small. There are 4 hook options in the back to help adjust the fit. If you’re unsure what size to order, there’s a lot of great Bravado bra sizing information to help determine your size.

And I would be remiss if I didn’t mention how pretty the bra is. It has a lot of beautiful lace accents, but is smooth to wear under a tee. It really doesn’t look like a dowdy nursing bra – it makes me feel like I’m wearing a real bra. You can even get the awesome matching Allure Boy Short Panty to help you feel less like a milk machine. I have them and I love them.

To Buy or Not to Buy

To Buy… The Allure Underwire Nursing bra is a supportive, PRETTY bra that just happens to be a nursing bra. I am used to wearing an underwire bra and find the Allure to be quite comfy. Because the design has some stretch, it’s perfect to wear throughout pregnancy and is recommended after a feeding schedule has been established.

Or Not to Buy… I’d love a bra offered in C/D size for those of us on the big side of B/C and small side of D/E.

Shop! The Allure Underwire Nursing Bra is $54 and can be purchased online at Bravado! Designs. The matching Allure Bottoms are $22 and both are available in black and ivory.

I don’t believe I have ever heard of Allure. I have always bought my nursing bras from Motherwear. Sounds like you found a keeper though.
