Sassy Feeding Products Review

sassy logoI’ve really enjoyed reviewing the new and improved Sassy products. Last week, I shared our experience with a couple of the new Sassy bath products and I’m excited to tell you about the Sassy feeding products. The designs are based on infant development and are very thoughtful and, best of all, affordable.

Sassy Feeding Gear – Good Design & Safe Materials

All new Sassy feeding products are made from BPA free, baby-safe plastic for durability with fresh style and safety.   From the stage of Discovery to Independence, ergonomic designs and new features make every stage of feeding a joy for parents and their children.  Bright colors and modern shapes give these feeding products up-to-the-minute designer looks.   And high contrast colors and patterns match baby’s visual development.

Our Experience

Just in time for Disney, we received the Perfect Sized Snack Pods – a set of two containers for eating on the go. The two square containers have a swivel top that opens easily when you’re trying, but stays closed pretty well when not in use. I love that for only $4 you get TWO snack pods. The larger is perfect for Preschool Boy (although, he’s pictured below with the smaller of the two). sassy perfect size snack podsAnd, Toddler Girl could easily carry around and get snacks from both. My only issue was when she would use them, because the container just opens with no catch, her snacks often ended up on the floor.

I mentioned we took the containers to Disney, and I liked that they fit easily into my diaper bag. The simple shape makes it easy to take along, and the size is really ideal for small on the go snacks.

sassy less mess toddler spoonMy little girl loves to eat. And she insists on feeding herself. As you can imagine, this often creates a problem. Looking back, I know I was encouraging my son to use hold a spoon by the age she is now, but perhaps because she’s so eager I assume she doesn’t have the patience for utensils. But, once we received the Less Mess Toddler Spoon I realized she’s ready for the challenge. The spoon’s shape is unique and perfect for little hands and the angle helps food make its way into the mouth and not the floor. The spoons even have small holes on the spoon part which are supposed to help food stay in place.

sassy toddler spoonEven when she’s not trying to feed herself, Toddler Girl likes to clutch the spoon at the table. I think of it as her way of warming up to actually using it to eat. She’ll get there. In the meantime, Preschool Boy has also used the spoon and it is noticeably easier for him to use than regular spoons. I didn’t realize he was still struggling a big with regular people spoons until I saw him use this one.

To Buy or Not to Buy

To Buy… I am really impressed with the Sassy feeding gear we received, particularly the spoons. The all-new designs remind me (in a very good way) of popular, more expensive line making the Sassy products a real bargain for the money. The entire collection of feeding products is available in a number of colors and definitely worth a look.

Or Not to Buy… My only complaint is that small food falls out of the Food Pods when my daughter has it (my son is old enough to know better), so it may be a developmental thing more than a design thing.

Shop! Sassy’s redesigned Feeding gear will be hitting store shelves near you soon (I noticed some items from the new Sassy feeding line at my Target a week ago so keep your eyes peeled) – the suggested retail price for both the Snack Pods and set of two Less Mess Spoons is $3.99. The line is really extensive and there’s lots to pick from so definitely check out the Sassy website for more info. Keep up with Sassy on Facebook.
