Born and raised in Europe, Saza Carruthers was accustomed to wooden toys and was disappointed at the lack of access to and options for similar toys in the United States. After the birth of her son and realizing a void in the market for European toys, Saza launched Goblin Kids. She says, “European toys are not only made of natural materials but also natural finishes that you can feel confident giving to the youngest of children. The toys are further crafted in a way that they encourage the imagination, creativity, and development of fine motor skills so important during each age group.

Haba Sakrada Building Blocks

haba sakrada building blocksGoblin Kids has a huge selection of Haba toys – a very popular German toy company. You can find everything from plush dolls to infant toys to blocks by Haba at Goblin Kids. We received the unique Sakrada Building Blocks Set. The set includes 10 hard wood blocks painted with natural, water-based lacquers. Unlike many block sets, the shapes are all different and anything but square.goblin kids haba toys The painting on the blocks is unique, too, and really quite beautiful for a children’s toy. I particularly like the Kaleidescope block that looks like a big jewel.

The Sakrada Blocks were picked with Toddler Girl in mind and, not surprisingly, Preschool Boy has enjoyed them, too. But, I have to say I’m delighted at how well my daughter plays with the blocks. She stacks and knocks them down and stacks again. Preschool Boy on the other hand is more interested in building actual things – so we replicate designs on the Haba box.

To Buy or Not to Buy

To Buy… Having lived in Germany for a few years, I’m familiar with many of the toys offered at Goblin Kids and am very impressed with the price! The toys are unique, very well-made and SAFE – no chemicals, plastic or the like to be found. The selection is really impressive, too, so you’re certain to find something for every kid.

Or Not to Buy… Some toys and blocks are more expensive than average or popular brands. However, they are built to last through several children.

Shop! Goblin Kids is easy, peasy to shop – you can browse by category, brand or age. The selection of toys is huge so take a look around and enjoy! The Sakrada Building Blocks are $25.19.
