so easy toddler foodTips and Advice

Anyone who’s enjoyed a meal with my family in the last year knows that my son is a bit of a challenge at the (breakfast, lunch and) dinner table. So, naturally, I devoured the first seven pages of the book that are devoted to straightforward tips and advice about encouraging healthy eating. One area that I will undoubtedly go back to over and over again is the “Dos and Don’ts to Avoid Food Battles”. And, oh, was I doing a lot of the “don’ts”. The advice is not judgy, and I’ve already found myself repeating it to myself during meals.

Recipes

The thirty-five recipes in the book are pretty general but very nutritious and kid-friendly (think granola, macaroni with ham and peas, and maple carrots). Each recipe includes a picture, which I like. The best part is that many of the recipes include menu ideas and recipe variations. The recipes are very easy to follow and each includes nutritional information.

To Buy or Not to Buy

To Buy… With a picky toddler, I find the advice and tips at the beginning very valuable – almost more than the actual recipes. But, of course I love a new cookbook and one a focus on toddler nutrition is a great addition to my kitchen.

Or Not to Buy… If you’re looking for a jam packed overflowing recipe book, this isn’t it. Rather, the book is a balance of tips and recipes.

Shop! The So Easy Toddler Food is available for purchase from Fresh Baby for only $8.95. On the site, you’ll also find a detailed outline of what’s in the book as well as other valuable information about kid’s nutrition and healthy eating.

Thanks for sharing this book. While our toddler isn’t a really picky eater, our 8 year old is and we’re always looking for ideas for him.
