Our Experience

The Ride and Learn Giraffe is recommended for children between 18 and 36 months. Both my 13 month old and 36 month old are very interested in the Giraffe. The sounds are appealing to little ears and not too annoying to grown ups. My one year old daughter isn’t old enough to actually sit on and ride the Giraffe but my son (36 months) has really enjoyed it – and he’s actually just the right size. We’re still working on learning his letters so the Giraffe has been a big help in that department. And, actually, it’s been a help in his physical milestones, too, because he was really no good at riding a tricycle or pedaling a bike until playing on this.

To Buy or Not to Buy

To Buy… I have to give props to VTech on the motivation and idea behind the Jungle Gym collection – get kids moving and learning at the same time. Toddler Boy has really enjoyed the Giraffe – it’s a great go-to toy when he’s got a little energy to spare and his eyes are always glued to the LCD screen that motivates him to ride.

Or Not to Buy… It’s not the most “solid” toy, although it good quality for the price point. Also, to encourage pedaling and activity it would be good if the music stopped playing when the child stops pedaling.
