Beaba Babycook: All About Baby Giveaway

If you’ve been reading The Shopping Mama for any length of time you know that I enjoy making homemade baby food. Well, the Beaba Babycook is a product designed specifically for making baby food.  Rather than using a steamer or a pot, strainer and food processor you can make baby food in ONE small, compact appliance.  Because the Babycook was created specifically for this purpose, it really is perfect for making your own baby food.

About Beaba

Founded in 1989 and headquartered in France, Beaba is revolutionizing the traditional infant market by offering today’s parents a range of conceptually and technically innovative products, including the groundbreaking Babycook, the Original Babyfood Maker™. Their mission is to listen to what parents want and ensure that safety, functionality and ergonomics are the forefront of the priority list when it comes to babies’ well being.

What is the Babycook?

The Beaba Babycook is a one-stop shop for making babyfood. This small, counter-top appliance includes a water-heating reservoir (for steaming), a 2.5 cup bowl, a cooking basket to use when steaming and then to drain, a blade for pureeing and a splatula to get all your goodness from the bowl. The Babycook also comes with an instruction manual that includes a few recipes. Here’s how it works: fill the water reservoir with water to steam, place food in the steamer basket and start steaming. It cooks food in less than 15 minutes! Next, drain the food in the basket and then place it in the food bowl. Puree to desired consistency and you’re done.

My Babycook Experience

I had a pretty good experience making baby food for my son with the standard kitchen equipment so I didn’t feel like I needed the Babycook. I was really lucky to win one from Magic Beans toy store and am so glad that I need. I felt a bit like an old dog learning new tricks when I started using this because I was used to making baby food without it. But, the more I used the Babycook the more I liked it. It really is so convenient to use only one machine rather than several. In addition to the ease of use in actually making the food, it’s obviously easier to clean only one thing. Though the Babycook comes with a few recipes, I used baby food recipes from my favorite books and really loved it. I do wish the food bowl was larger so you could make larger batches of food at one time.

Other Beaba Baby Feeding Products

Beaba just extended its line of products to make feeding baby easier. The line includes the Multiportions compartment storage for freezing homemade baby food, lunch box for eating on the go, spoon and fork set, first stages spoon and more! All the pieces are designed with parents in mind and include features like non-slip base and dishwasher safe.
