Bumbleride Indie Twin Stroller Review {Part 4: The Recap, Other Bumblerides and News}

This is the fourth and final post in the Bumbleride Indie Twin review series. I hope you have found them useful and that you’ve learned about this awesome stroller. If you have any questions about my experience with the Indie Twin, please leave a comment or email me!

Indie Twin vs. the Mall
We’ve done some neighborhood walking, off-road trail walking and even jogging with the Indie Twin, but on Sunday we put it through its paces at a mall. Not just any mall, folks, an enormous outlet mall in a beach town on a cloudy afternoon on Labor Day weekend. (I have NO idea why we thought this was a good idea. All we got from the afternoon was an .85 cent letter for our mantle from Restoration Hardware. Oh, and a new Bumbleride experience!) So, needless to say the mall was totally crowded with people who added a new challenge to the maneuvering required to get a double stroller through a clothing store.

I knew the Bumbleride would fit through the door of stores, but I was worried about whether we’d be able to fit through racks of clothes and goods at a mall. I was completely surprised by how well the Bumbleride strolled through packed stores. Was it as easy as pushing a single stroller? Of course not, but we honestly didn’t have any problems getting where we wanted to go. I don’t have any photos to prove my point (I’m not that crazy), but I do have a picture of the Bumbleride conquering the grocery store.

The Indie Twin Recap
Here’s a quick rundown of my favorite features and a few ways to improve.

To Buy… My favorite features
* A luxury side by side double with lots of bells and whistles and standard accessories
* Suitable for newborns and up to 90 pounds of kid – and it comes with the infant car seat adapter bar at no extra charge.
* Wheels are large and in charge – at 12″ the air inflated tires handle various terrains with ease.
* Front wheels rotate 360 degrees and lock inline for jogging
* Super stylish – I love how it looks and we get compliments all the time. It’s available in 5 great color combinations.
* Folds easily – Slight learning curve, but now that I’m used to it, it’s super quick and easy.
* Large storage basket – it’s easy to access and can hold quite a bit. I also like the small zip pockets on the back of the canopies.

Or Not to Buy… A couple areas of improvement.
* The Owner’s Manual needs some updating and clarification for both assembly and use with accessories like the jogging strap.
* I wish the harness pad between the legs was attached to the stroller.
* No place to store included air pump

Overall, the Bumbleride Indie Twin is amazing and we truly love it. At $660, it’s definitely an investment, but I think it’s worth the money. We use our double stroller nearly every single day and we will for the foreseeable future – you can’t say that about very many baby and kid items.

Other Bumblerides
If you aren’t in the market for a double stroller, you should check out some of the other Bumbleride strollers. The Indie – a single version of the Indie Twin – is a nimble 20 pound all terrain stroller. My favorite feature of the Flyer is that the handle bar easily rotates so that baby can face you or the world – this is not your average stroller! The final stroller in the Bumbleride family is the Queen B – a modern taken on a classic pram stroller.

Sounds great that it works in real life. It is nice that it holds up 90 pounds.

I didn't see that you mentioned any problems with the stroller and fitting a tall kid. My husband is 6' 4" and my son is already in the 95%tile for height so this is something that I think about when looking for strollers.

This would be so great. Right now when we go shopping, I put my 18 m/o in a cheap umbrella stroller and my 3 y/o wanders…I mean, walks with me. (We sold our tandem double because it was waaaaaay too much stroller for us.) This would be perfect for our needs. But I agree with the previous comment: my son is literally off the charts (our ped projects him to be in about the 140th or 150th percentile of size for his age), so I worry about him "fitting" a stroller. :o /

I can't believe you went shopping on Labor Day weekend with two babies! You are brave!! It sounds as if the Bumbleride handled like a dream though. Lovt the large storage basket. Though apparently you didn't need it this trip!

This sounds like it is just what I need with the 2 kiddos.. The little ones would love riding and I would love the ease of the way the Bumbleride Indie Twin handles..
    Thanks for the terrific reviews.

Seeing this stroller has definitely convinced me that even if I can't win it for free- it's still worth the investment. Thanks for the opportunity.

She said is it as easy as maneuvering a single stroller, like I posted in #3 it isn't all that easy.. But knowing that it would still fit is an added benifit!!!
