What’s Your Baby Eating These Days? Baby Girl’s Trying Gerber 8 Grains & Yogurt Cereal

It’s been a while since we blogged All About Eating, but I’ve got another cool baby food to share. Baby Girl has really, (um, how do I put this delicately?) taken to solids. Let’s put it this way: at almost 9 months she weighs what her brother did at one year. That’s my girl! But, honestly, I love it. I love that she’s a good eater, healthy and even a tad chunky.

Baby Girl’s diet consists mostly of purees and blends of food I make for her (lot of fruits, vegetables, chicken and cheese), and she’s starting to eat bits and pieces of our table food. These days she doesn’t have much interest for plain cereals any more, so I as anxious to offer her Gerber’s 8 Grains & Yogurt Cereal to see if what she thought.

About 8 Grains & Yogurt Cereal
GERBER 8 Grains & Yogurt Cereal is made with 8 natural grains and real yogurt. Let your baby discover the creamy taste and goodness of yogurt with GERBER 8 Grains & Yogurt Cereal.

The first time I made this cereal I knew it was different. It’s hard to explain, but the texture is quite different from other simple, single grain cereals. I chalk it up to the fact that Grain Blends Cereal does include real yogurt. How does it work? I have no idea, but it does include live and active cultures. It certainly makes for an easy way to offer Baby Girl yogurt on the go – just take a baggie of this Cereal and mix with water – it’s much easier than trying to keep yogurt cold in the summer!

Even with the complex flavor and thick texture of this cereal, I generally add mashed banana or a fruit puree. Baby Girl seems more interested in it that way.

To Buy… Gerber 8 Grains & Yogurt Cereal is appropriate for babies who can sit and have already eaten simple cereals like Rice or Oatmeal. For us, it’s been a good way to offer more complex cereals and grains since Baby Girl was sort of bored with Oatmeal and never even had Rice Cereal.

Or Not to Buy… Make sure your child has already been introduced to wheat and that you are comfortable feeding your baby yogurt since the Cereal includes live and active cultures.

Shop! You can get Gerber Grain Blends Cereal & Yogurt in your local grocery store.

Talk to me! What is your little one eating these days? Have you experimented with any new foods?
