Murphy’s Law of the Military Spouse

It’s a well known fact among military spouses that anything that can go wrong, will go wrong when your husband is out of town. For example, a friend of mine was recently forced to move out of her house a 4 short days before her husband returned from a 6 month deployment. The squadron and her church rallied and helped her move so it was a happy ending, and that is a rather extreme example, but it’s all part of the Murphy’s Law of the Military Spouse.

My husband has been out of town for the past week and Murphy’s Law of the Military Spouse is in full effect! Thankfully, nothing major or too traumatic. And, well, just read some of my Twitter updates from the past several days…

Tuesday: The Toilet
Thankfully, this turned out to be a false alarm and I am happy to report the toilet is working fine. I am sure it is saving the true, complete breakdown until my husband is out of town for a month.

Thursday: The BirdSadly, there is no happy ending for the bird or for me. Ew. I had to.move.the.dead.bird. Unpleasant. Blech. I get the heebies just thinking about it.

Friday: The Cockroach

I think my tweets say it all. I clearly had the last laugh and that tormenting little cockroach got what was coming to it! But, why the hell was it in the washing machine? So freaking gross. As someone on Twitter replied, “At least it’s clean.” Or, it was clean.

It’s all in a day’s work. Nothing I can’t handle, right?

Saturday: The Shower
The water in my shower will not drain. At all. Sigh…. This may be the week’s biggest challenge. Already tried Drano with no luck. What to do, what to do?

Updated Again to Add:

Sunday: Tropical Storm Claudette
When it rains, it pours. Literally.
Thankfully, my husband will be home tomorrow and we can face next week’s adventures together.
