Ufadili Review: Kids’ Clothes with a Cause

If it’s not yet apparent, let me make it clear that I enjoy cute clothes for my kids. I am quick to point out that they have far better wardrobes than me. But, Ufadili kind world goods asks the question “What if clothes were more than just cute?”

About Ufadili

Ufadili was founded on the philosophical cornerstone of conscious consumerism. I [Founder Michelle Mandeville] had an idea of a place where the simple decision of buying a shirt for my daughter or a onesie for my son could be a great connecting experience – an experience that connected us artistically, culturally, educationally and charitably to the rest of the world. In this spirit came the concept for Ufadili , a name inspired by the Swahili word “ufadhili” meaning “kindheartedness, goodwill”.

Wear * Learn * Give
Wear. Ufadili tees and onesies are super soft, 100% cotton and made in the US. They offer a cute selection of designs for babies, kids and even adults. Most shirts have a cute animal and the name of that animal in a language other than English.

Learn. A giving tag is attached to every shirt with the the translation into 5 languages and fun facts about the design. Toddler Boy’s shirt, for example, features the Ufadili logo monkey and the tag tells us how to say monkey in four other languages as well as a fun fact about monkeys.

Give. A whopping 30% of Ufadili profits are donated to various organizations to help children, animals and the planet. That’s really a remarkable and completely generous percentage that benefits some great charities, including Heifer International (which in addition to having an awesome name is an amazing charity).

To Buy… Toddler Boy’s Monkey tee is totally cute, very soft and he’s already received several compliments and questions about it.

Or Not to Buy… Really, my only negative is the price tag. To justify the cost, think of it as more than just purchasing a tee. You really are making a donation and participating in “conscious consumerism.”

Shop! Browse and purchase Ufadili tees and onesies online. Short sleeve onesies are $32 and tees are $34. Long sleeve and raglan designs are also available.

I love cute clothes for my kids too. They sound like a very generous company, and I like the learning tag idea, very innovative!
