Dapple: Baby Safe Cleaning Review + Giveaway (Closed)

It’s now time to discuss the unfortunate part of All About Eating: cleaning. Luckily, Dapple products are here to help. Dapple is a line of baby safe but super tough cleaning products designed by mamas for mamas.

Dapple Baby was founded by Tamar Rosenthal and Dana Rubinstein
When we first became moms, we found a market full of “baby-friendly” products – from gentle laundry detergent for babies’ clothes, to mild shampoo for babies’ hair. But there was nothing specific for the very items that our babies put into their mouths each day – their baby bottles, cups, and dishes. … It became our mission to find a better way – and create a line of products that were natural and safe for our babies, but also specifically targeted to clean the unique messes they leave behind. With the help and hard work of several experienced pediatricians and a team of seasoned green chemists, Dapple was born.

Dapple products are specifically designed to clean the things that babies use every day: bottles, sippy cups, dishes, little utensils and even toys. Don’t let the fact that Dapple is designed to clean up after baby fool you – it’s super strong and gets the job done.

We’ve been using the Dapple Dish Liquid and Dapple Dishwasher Powder and I’m totally impressed with the results. Toddler Boy’s sippy cups come out of the dishwasher sparkling clean and without milky residue. He drinks a lot of milk, too, so we go through a lot of cups. With other dish soap I’ve noticed that sometimes they don’t smell clean even right out of the washing machine or off the dish drying rack. But, seriously, that icky smell is gone after using Dapple. That’s definitely my favorite result.

In addition to dish products, Dapple offers Toy Cleaners. I love the idea of the Toy Cleaner Wipes. What an easy way to clean and disinfect your kiddo’s pile of plastic toys after a play date.

To Buy… If you’re concerned about what food your baby is eating you should also be concerned about what they’re eating with and drinking from, right? Dapple products are gentle for baby and safer on the environment. (I am suddenly reminded of those old deodorant commercials: strong enough for a man, but made for a woman. In this case, Dapple is strong enough for a man but made for baby.)

Or Not to Buy… The only negative I can find is that Dapple products are more expensive than traditional dish products. This is not surprising, and I think a lot of moms are willing to pay extra for extra-safe and kid-friendly products.

Shop! Find a local retailer on Dapple’s website or order online Diapers.com (dish liquid is $5.99 and dishwasher powder is $6.99). For more information about the benefits and ingredients in Dapple, check out http://www.dapplebaby.com/.
